What is the difference between a blog and a website?
A website is like a home base for your online presence. It typically contains static pages, such as an About page, a Services page, and a Contact page, designed to share key information about you or your business. Websites are perfect for showcasing your offerings, sharing details about your brand, and providing a way for visitors to get in touch. A blog is a dynamic section of a website (or can be a standalone site) that’s updated regularly with new content, called blog posts. Blogs are ideal for sharing stories, tutorials, updates, or expert advice. They help you connect with your audience on a deeper level, build authority in your niche, and drive traffic to your website.
Think of a website as the framework/hub for your business and a blog as the conversation that keeps people coming back for more!
I am brand new to blogging, and I have no idea what I want my website or blog to look like. Can you help?
Absolutely! We’ll book a call or facetime and we can talk about your blog ideas and your vision. I usually ask my clients to send me links to websites and blogs that they like – not so I can copy, but so I can get a better feel for your design preferences and aesthetic. I also offer several sample templates to look over, so you can tell me what you like and don’t like in a website/blog design.
Do I need a logo already?
No, I can help with a logo, website headers and graphics, and branding.
What is the first step? This feels a little overwhelming!
No worries! I will walk you through step-by-step, and after we have an initial conversation and you decide to hire me, the first step is deciding on a domain name. This can take a little time and is sometimes tricky, because there are so many websites/blogs out there these days, but we’ll brainstorm together and get it figured out. I’ll help you register the domain name (this is a fee you pay once a year), and then we’ll move to step two. I won’t explain more steps here, but trust me when I say that I’ll be walking along side you (and will do most of it for you, if you want) to get your new website/blog started.
I am totally NOT tech oriented, and I’m afraid I won’t be able to maintain a website/blog. I really want to write and have my work/writing out there, but the tech part is holding me back.
Again, NO worries. Training is always included when you decide to work with me, and it will be part of the final work we do once the website/blog design is complete. I am also available on a monthly retainer to help with tech support and even writing support. After the tutorial, if you decide you just want to send me your blog posts by email and let me do the posting, SEO and tech stuff for you – I can do that!
Wait, what is SEO?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It’s a small, but important piece of blogging. It includes writing good titles, and using keywords and descriptions for your blog posts, so that Google and other search engines can easily find you. I promise it’s not hard to learn this piece, but again, I’m available to help if needed.
What if already have a website/blog, but need some updates or a re-design?

Is this going to be expensive?
My starter design package for a new blog (stand-alone) starts at $949 and a website/blog package starts at $1450. The e-commerce add-on to sell products (digital or physical) would be another $599. Domain registration and hosting fees are approximately $140 per year. Affordable payment plans are available, if needed.
