Behind the Scenes: What It’s Like to Work with Me
Thinking about hiring someone to help with your website, blog, or tech stuff can feel a little overwhelming, especially when you’re not even sure what you need or how it all works. I totally get that! That’s why I wanted to give you a little peek behind the scenes so you can see exactly what it’s like to work with me.
Spoiler alert: It’s friendly, simple, and all about you!
I work with creative women, small business owners, crafters, and entrepreneurs who need a website, blog, e-commerce, or any combination of the three. Often, these creative women are full of ideas but tired of spinning their wheels trying to figure out the tech. They might be launching a new product, starting a blog to go with their website or etsy shop, or wanting to finally feel proud of the website they tried to DIY. If any of this sounds like you? Website/Blog Design Process
Since most of what I do is website/blog design, here is a quick overview of what it’s like to work with me.
Step One: Let’s Chat
We’ll start with a phone (or email) consultation. You tell me what you’re dreaming about (or stressing about), and I’ll let you know what’s possible.
Step Two: Proposal + Timeline
I’ll put together a custom plan just for you with pricing, timeline, and what’s included. I’ll send a listing for payment along with a design agreement, so you’ll know exactly what to expect before we begin.
Step 3: Getting Started
Once we agree to move forward and payment has been made, I’ll start collecting any content or details I need. If you need help writing or organizing as we go, I’ll walk you through it step by step. I’ll reserve a domain and set up hosting accounts, if those are needed.
Step 4: Design & Build
I get to work creating your site, shop, or blog. You’ll get sneak peeks, and I’ll check in often to make sure it feels like you. I usually design a basic draft of the site, and wait for approval before moving forward with finalizing. This step can sometimes turn into 2-3 steps, if the original draft is not quite what you were hoping for. Rest assured, I keep working on it until you are happy!
Step 5: Launch & Support
When it’s ready, we’ll launch it together…and I don’t disappear! I send you tutorials for how to use your site/blog/e-commerce shopping cart, and I offer support after launch. For some clients, I handle ongoing updates, blog formatting, and emails, too.
